Anxiety United and My Personal Goals for 2015!

I would like to start off by wishing you all a happy new year! I hope you had a great night and didn't spend new years day being sick multiple times like i did!

A lot of people consider new year as some sort of great venture, wheres I have never been bothered by it before. I never make resolutions and I never care to set goals and aims for myself either. However, all that changed this morning when I woke up to inspirational tweets and videos by Anxiety United, you can get to them here and here, which has completely inspired me to set my self five aims this year in terms of my anxiety and quality of life.

Here they are...

  1. Spend more time writing in my diary. I find this so therapeutic yet tend to write only when I'm having a bad day, which makes it hard to track my progress and look back on the positivities. I'd like to start writing in it more often regardless of whether I'm feeling happy or sad.
  2. "Don't go into situations with expectations." This is an absolutely HUGE problem for me. I have expectations of how I want a certain situation to pan out, which never ends well because 90% of the time it doesn't end up that way. Kicking this will make my life so much better, so I want to remind myself every day.... "don't go into situations with expectations!"
  3. Play video games. I'm such a video game addict, no joke, I love Sims, Simcity, Minecraft and other stuff too! So on that note I'd like to make an effort to play games more, just because I feel it helps me to be more creative in my every day life which then helps with other things like uni. work and inspiration. Plus its really fun and helps me to forget my troubles and pass some time.
  4. Get my blog to a place where I'd like it to be. I'm pretty sure no blogger is ever 100% happy with their blog as a whole, so to make that my goal would be ridiculous. However, I would like to get to a place where I consider writing blog posts easy, and a place where the inspiration flows. I'd also like to get back on schedule.. which is another task in itself, and possibly write more about my mental health in the hopes of helping myself and others.
  5. "Act confident even when I'm not." A lot of the time I wonder how others are so confident in themselves and with the way things work, how the hell do they do it?! My goal is to act confident whenever I can, regardless of how I'm feeling, to hopefully send off a positive vibe about myself and actually end up being confident. Confidence is one of my biggest issues.... and being happy with how I am is a tough thing for me and is something I'm dying to change.
More about Anxiety United...
So I've followed AU for a while now, and they post extremely positive and motivating tweets. Their video diary series has completely motivated me to improve along as they do to. You should totally take a look if you're suffering with any sort of anxious issue.

All the best for 2015!

  2. Really good to write in a journal more often. I have written a journal since I was 9 and I have to say that it has been a really important tool in life - a way to understand myself and the world more. Happy New Year Emily x

  3. Happy New Year to you! I think you a have a lovely blog :) I definitely agree with number 5 - sometimes you have to 'fake it until you make it' . Eventually, you are no longer faking, simply being yourrself!
